A.Cleanaroundtheoildipstickanddipsticktting.
B.Pulloutthedipstickandwipethemetalendclean.
C.Slidethedipstickfullyintothedipsticktting.
D.Pullthedipstickoutandlookatthemetalend.
E.IftheoillevelisbelowtheMin-levelmarkonthe
dipstick,slowlypourenoughoilintotheoil-ll
tubetoraisethelevelonthedipsticktobetween
theMin-andMax-oillevel(Figure59).
Important:Donotoverllthecrankcase
withoil.
F.Installtheoilllercapinthellerneck(Figure
59).
G.Insertthedipstickintothedipsticktting,and
seatthedipstickrmly.
4.Starttheengineandallowittorunatthe
slow-enginespeedfor2minutes;refertoStartingthe
Engine—ManualMode(page26)andEngine-speed

1.Opentheforwardhood.
2.Checktheair-lterhousingandair-intakebootfor
damage.Checktheentireintakesystemfordamage,
signsofleaks,andloosehoseclamps.
Note:Repairorreplacedamagedcomponentsbefore
operatingthemachine.
3.Releasethelatchesontheair-ltercoverandpullitoff
oftheairlterhousing(Figure60).
Important:Donotremovetheairlter.
