Cleaning
RemovingDebrisfromthe
Machine
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Important:Operatingtheenginewithblockedgrill
and/orcoolingshroudsremoved,willresultinengine
damagefromoverheating.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,turntheengineoff
,andremovethekey;refertoStartingandStopping
theEngine(page26).
2.Opentheforwardandrearhoodsandallowtheengine
tocool;refertoOpeningtheHood(page24).
3.Cleananydebrisfromthefrontgrills.
4.Wipeawaydebrisfromtheairlter.
5.Cleananydirtanddebrisontheengineandinthe
coolingnswithabrushorblower.
Important:Itispreferabletoblowdirtout,rather
thanwashingitout.Ifwaterisused,keepitaway
fromelectricalitemsandhydraulicvalves.Do
notuseahigh-pressurewasher.High-pressure
washingcandamagetheelectricalsystemand
hydraulicvalvesordepletegrease.
6.Cleandebrisfromthehoodopening,mufer,andheat
shields.
7.Cleandebrisfromtheoil-coolerduct(Figure6)and
theengine-exhaustpipe(Figure6).
8.Closethehoods;refertoClosingtheHood(page24).
CleaningtheChassis
ServiceInterval:Every100hours—Checkforaccumulation
ofdirtanddebrisinthechassis.
Overtime,thechassisundertheenginecollectsdirtand
debristhatmustberemoved.Usingaashlight,inspectthe
areaundertheengine,fueltank,andhydraulictankona
regularbasis.Whenthedebrisis25–50mm(1–2inch)deep,
haveanAuthorizedServiceDealerremovethedrumsand
ushthechassisclean.
