PrimingtheFuelSystem
Bleedthefuelsystembeforestartingtheengineifanyofthe
followingconditionsoccur:
•Initialstartupofanewmachine.
•Enginehasceasedrunningduetolackoffuel.
•Maintenancehasbeenperformeduponfuelsystem
components(e.g.,lterreplaced).
Note:Whenperformed,theengineshouldstartafter
primingthefuelsystem.However,ifenginedoesnotstart,
airmaybetrappedbetweeninjectionpumpandinjectors;
contactyourAuthorizedServiceDealer.
1.Removethekey,andallowtheenginetocool.
2.Opentheforwardhood;referto
OpeningtheHood
(page24).
3.Ensurethatthefuellevelinthetankisgreaterthat
one-thirdfull.
4.Removethefuelcapandsensorassembly(Figure24).
Note:Donotallowthedirtanddebristoenterthe
fueltankoraccumulateonthequantitysensor.
