UsingthePowerTool
Important:Donotoperatethevibratorheadoutofthe
concretemixformorethanafewminutes.Thewetconcrete
keepstheheadattheproperoperatingtemperature.
1.Ensurethatthepowerunit,shaft,andheadaresecurely
attached.
2.Ensurethatthevibratorpowerunitissittingsecurely,oruse
theshoulderstraptohangitoveryourshoulder.
3.Whileholdingtheexibleshaft,turnthepoweruniton;refer
toStartingandStoppingtheMotor(page8).
4.Insertthevibratorheadverticallyintotheconcrete,andallow
theweightofittosinkittothedesireddepth.
Note:Forcingthevibratorheadmaycauseittobecome
stuckbetweenpiecesofrebar.
5.Keepthevibratorheadinplacefor5to15seconds,and
thenslowlyliftitup.
Note:Allowabout15secondsformovingthevibratora61
cm(2foot)distanceupandoutoftheconcrete.
Note:Usingaslightupanddownmovementwillclosethe
holeformedbythevibratorhead.
6.Removethevibratorquicklywhenitisnearthetopofthe
concrete.
7.Insertthevibratoratadistance1.5timestheradiusofaction
awayfromthelastinsertionpoint,andrepeattheprocedure.
8.Whenyouarenishedusingthepowertool,turnitoff,
unplugthepowercable,andwipethepowertoolclean.
OperatingTips
•Matchthevibratorpowerunit,shaft,andheadtothejob.
Selectthelargestvibratorsuitableforthejob.Selectthe
shortestshaftpossibletodothejobtoassuremaximum
powertothevibratorhead.
•Forthehighestefciency,avoidmakingsharpbendsinthe
exibleshaft.
•Donotusethevibratortomovetheconcretelaterally.Doing
sowillcausesegregation.Useashovelinstead.
•Limitpoursto2feethigh;thiswillresultinlessresistance
forairtoescape.
•Allowthevibratortopenetrate3to6inchesintothepreceding
layertoknitthe2layerstogether,preventingliftlines.
•Fliptheshaftaround(sothatthemotorendisatthehead,
andviceversa)periodicallytoextendtheservicelife.
Maintenance
WARNING
Iftheextensioncordispluggedintothepowertool,
someonecouldaccidentallyoperatethepowertool
whileyouareperformingmaintenanceonit,causing
seriouspersonalinjury.
MovetheOn/OffswitchtotheOffposition,and
disconnecttheextensioncordbeforeyouperformany
maintenanceonthepowertool.
Note:Theheadsarefactory-sealed,thereforetheyrequireno
maintenance.
Afterusingthepowertooleachtime,completethefollowing:
1.Turnthemotoroffandunplugthepowertool.
2.Wipethepowertoolcleanwithadampcloth.Donothoseit
downorsubmergeitinwater.
3.Checkandtightenallfasteners.Ifanypartisdamagedor
lost,repairorreplaceit.
4.Brushdebrisawayfromtheairintakeventsonthemotor
housingtopreventthemotorfromoverheating.
