B.Ifthegapistoolarge,carefullybendtheside
electrodetowardfromthecenterelectrodeuntil
thegapbetweentheelectrodesiswithinthe
measuredairgaprange.
InstallingtheSparkPlug
Important:Ensurethatthegapbetweenthesideand
centerelectrodesiscorrectbeforeinstallingthespark
plug.
1.Threadthesparkplugclockwiseintothespark-plug
holebyhand.
Note:Avoidcrossthreadingthesparkplugwiththe
threadsofthespark-plughole.
2.Rotatesparkplugclockwiseusinga20mm(13/16
inch)spark-plugwrenchuntiltheplugandsealing
washerareseated(Figure29).
3.Tightentheplugasfollows:
•Wheninstallinganin-servicesparkplug,tighten
thepluganadditional1/8to1/4turn.
•Wheninstallinganewsparkplug,tightentheplug
anadditional1/2turn.
4.Installthespark-plugwirepushingthewireontothe
terminaloftheplug(Figure28).

thefuel.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceandstoptheengine;
refertoStoppingtheEngine(page13).
2.Ensurethattheengineandtheexhaustsystemsurfaces
arecool.
3.MovetheleverofthefuelvalvetotheOffposition,all
thewaytotheleft(Figure31).
4.Unscrewthesedimentcup.
5.RemovethefuellterandO-ring(Figure31).
