System
Bleedthetractionhydraulicsystemwheneveryou
performmaintenanceonthehydrostatictransmission
oraddhydraulicuidtotheexpansiontank.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,move
themotion-controlleverstotheNEUTRAL-LOCK
position,engagetheparkingbrake,andlower
thehopper.
2.Shutofftheengine,andremovethekey.Allow
theenginetocool.
3.Checkthehydraulicuidlevelandaddhydraulic
uidasnecessary;refertoCheckingthe
Hydraulic-FluidLevelfortheDriveSystem(page
31).
4.Supportthemachineonjackstands,high
enoughtoraisethetracksofftheground.
5.Startthemachine.Slowlymovethe
motion-controlleversforwardandreverse5to
6times.
6.Checkthehydraulicuidlevelandaddhydraulic
uidasnecessary.
7.Repeatsteps5and6asnecessaryuntilallthe
airiscompletelypurgedfromthesystem.
Note:Purgingiscompletewhenyouobtain
normalforwardandreversespeed.
8.Lowerthemachineandrepeattheprocedure
withthetracksontheground.
