Bleedthetractionhydraulicsystemwheneveryou
performmaintenanceonthehydrostatictransmission
oraddhydraulicuidtotheexpansiontank.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,move
themotion-controlleverstotheNEUTRAL-LOCK
position,engagetheparkingbrake,andlower
thehopper.
2.Shutofftheengine,andremovethekey.Allow
theenginetocool.
3.Checkthehydraulicuidlevelandaddhydraulic
uidasnecessary;refertoServicingthe
HydraulicDriveSystem(page34).
4.Supportthemachineonjackstands,high
enoughtoraisethetracksofftheground.
5.Startthemachine.Slowlymovethe
motion-controlleversforwardandreverse5to
6times.
6.Checkthehydraulicuidlevelandaddhydraulic
uidasnecessary.
7.Repeatsteps5and6asnecessaryuntilallthe
airiscompletelypurgedfromthesystem.
Note:Purgingiscompletewhenyouobtain
normalforwardandreversespeed.
8.Lowerthemachineandrepeattheprocedure
withthetracksontheground.

ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,move
themotion-controlleverstotheNEUTRAL-LOCK
position,engagetheparkingbrake,raisethe
hopper,andinstallthecylinderlock.
2.Shutoffthemachineandremovethekey.Allow
themachinetocoolcompletely.
3.Removethellercapfromthereservoirtank
(Figure52).
CAUTION
Thehydraulicbreather/llercapis
designedtopressurizethereservoirto
34kPa(5psi).
Loosenthecapslowlytoavoidinjury
wheneveraddinguidorworkingonthe
hydraulicsystem.Useawrenchonthe
hexdirectlyunderthecap.
