Theowner/usercanpreventandisresponsible
foraccidentsthatmaycausepersonalinjuryor
propertydamage.
Donotexceedtheratedoperatingcapacity,asthe
machinemaybecomeunstable,whichmayresult
inlossofcontrol.
Wearappropriateclothingincludingeyeprotection,
longpants,substantialslip-resistantfootwear,and
hearingprotection.Tiebacklonghairanddonot
wearlooseclothingorloosejewelry.
Useyourfullattentionwhileoperatingthe
machine.Donotengageinanyactivitythat
causesdistractions;otherwise,injuryorproperty
damagemayoccur.
Donotoperatethemachinewhileill,tired,or
undertheinuenceofalcoholordrugs.
Operatethemachineonlyingoodlight,keeping
awayfromholesandhiddenhazards.
EnsurethatalldrivesareintheNeutralposition
beforestartingtheengine.Starttheengineonly
fromtheoperatingposition.
Keepyourhandsandfeetawayfrommoving
parts.Ifpossible,donotmakeadjustmentswith
theenginerunning.
Neverjerkthecontrols;useasteadymotion.
Usecarewhenapproachingblindcorners,shrubs,
trees,orotherobjectsthatmayobscureyour
vision.
Slowdownandusecautionwhenmakingturns
andcrossingroadsandsidewalkswiththe
machine.Alwaysyieldtheright-of-way.
Operatetheengineonlyinwell-ventilatedareas.
Exhaustgasescontaincarbonmonoxide,which
islethalifinhaled.
Neverleavearunningmachineunattended.
Operatethemachineonlyingoodvisibilityand
appropriateweatherconditions.Donotoperate
themachinewhenthereistheriskoflightning.
Beawareofobstaclesincloseproximitytoyou.
Failuretomaintainadequatedistancefromtrees,
walls,andotherbarriersmayresultininjuryasthe
machinebacksupduringoperationifyouarenot
attentivetothesurroundings.
Checkforoverheadclearance(i.e.,electrical
wires,branches,anddoorways)beforedriving
underanyobjectsanddonotcontactthem.
Donotoverloadthehopperandalwayskeepthe
loadlevelwhenoperatingthemachine.
SlopeSafety
Slopesareamajorfactorrelatedtoloss-of-control
andtip-overaccidents,whichcanresultinsevere
injuryordeath.Youareresponsibleforsafeslope
operation.Operatingthemachineonanyslope
requiresextracaution.Beforeusingthemachine
onaslope,dothefollowing:
Reviewandunderstandtheslopeinstructions
inthemanualandonthemachine.
Evaluatethesiteconditionsofthedayto
determineiftheslopeissafeformachine
operation.Alwaysusecommonsense
andgoodjudgmentwhenperformingthis
evaluation.Changesintheterrain,suchas
moisture,canquicklyaffecttheoperationof
themachineonaslope.
Raisingthehopperonaslopeaffectsthestability
ofthemachine.Keepthehopperinthelowered
andstraightpositionwhenonslopes.
Whenoperatingonaslope,foldtheplatformup
andwalkbehindthemachineuntilitisonat
ground.
Operateupanddownslopeswiththeheavy
endofthemachineuphill.Weightdistribution
changeswithafullhopper.Afullhoppermakes
thefrontofthemachinetheheavyend,sowhen
travelingupordownslopeswithafullhopper,walk
behindthemachinewiththefullhopperuphill.
Identifyhazardsatthebaseoftheslope.Do
notoperatethemachineneardrop-offs,ditches,
embankments,waterorotherhazards.The
machinecouldsuddenlyrolloverifawheelortrack
goesovertheedgeortheedgecollapses.Keep
asafedistance(twicethewidthofthemachine)
betweenthemachineandanyhazard.
Avoidstarting,stopping,orturningthemachineon
aslope.Avoidmakingsuddenchangesinspeed
ordirection;turnslowlyandgradually.
Keepallmovementsonslopesslowandgradual.
Donotmakesuddenchangesinspeedor
direction.
Donotoperatethemachineunderanyconditions
wheretraction,steering,orstabilityisinquestion.
Beawarethatoperatingthemachineonwetgrass,
acrossslopesordownhillmaycausethemachine
