ServicingtheBattery
Alwayskeepthebatterycleanandfullycharged.Useapaper
toweltocleanthebatteryandbatterybox.Ifthebattery
terminalsarecorroded,cleanthemwithasolutionof4parts
waterand1partbakingsoda.Applyalightcoatingofgrease
tothebatteryterminalstopreventcorrosion.
Batteryvoltageandamperage:12volts,195cold-cranking
amps
RemovingtheBattery
WARNING
Batteryterminalsormetaltoolscouldshortagainst
metaltractorcomponents,causingsparks.Sparks
cancausethebatterygassestoexplode,resulting
inpersonalinjury.
Whenremovingorinstallingthebattery,donot
allowthebatteryterminalstotouchanymetal
partsofthetractor.
Donotallowmetaltoolstoshortbetweenthe
batteryterminalsandmetalpartsofthetractor.
1.Disengagethebladecontrol(PTO).
2.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforallmoving
partstostopbeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
3.Tiptheseatforwardtoseethebattery.
4.Disconnectthenegative(black)groundcablefromthe
batterypost(Figure24).

5.Slidetherubbercoverupthepositive(red)cable.
Disconnectthepositive(red)cablefromthebattery
post(Figure24).
6.Removethebatteryboxandbatteryfromthechassis
(Figure24).
InstallingtheBattery
1.Putthebatteryintothebatteryboxandinstallitinto
thechassis(Figure24).
2.Usingtheboltandwingnut,connectthepositive(red)
cabletothepositive(+)batterypost(Figure24).
3.Slidetherubbercoveroverthebatterypost.
4.Usingtheboltandthewingnut,connectthenegative
(black)cabletothenegative(–)batterypost(Figure24).

1.Tiptheseatforwardtoseethebattery.
2.Lookatthesideofthebattery.Theelectrolyteshould
