Every400hours
Checktoensurethatparkingbrakeisadjusted
properly.Followthisprocedurealsowheneveryou
haveremovedorreplacedabrakecomponent.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengage
theblade-controlswitch,andengagetheparking
brake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Raisetherearofthemachineupandsupport
themachinewithjackstands.
4.Removethereartiresfromthemachine.
5.Removeanydebrisfromthebrakearea.
6.Releasethedrivewheels;refertoUsingthe
Drive-WheelReleaseValves(page30).
7.Measurethelengthofthelinkassembly(Figure
54).
Note:Ifthelinkassemblyisattachedinthe
frontposition,thelengthshouldbe21.9cm
(8.63inches);ifitisattachedintherearposition,
thelengthshouldbe23.2cm(9.15inches).

9.Whenyouachievethecorrectspringlength,
checktoseeifthereisavisiblegapbetweenthe
trunionandtheshoulder.
10.Disengagetheparkingbrakeandturnthewheel
hubbyhandinbothdirections.
Note:Thewheelhubshouldmovefreely.
11.Ifagapisneededorthewheelhubdoesmove
freely,dothefollowing:
A.Disengagetheparkingbrake.
B.Disconnectandne-tunetherearlinkage
assembly.
Shortenthelinktocreateagap.
Lengthenthelinktoallowwheelhub
movement.
C.Connecttherearlinkageassembly.
12.Engagetheparkingbrakeandcheckthegap.
