•Cleangrassanddebrisfromthecuttingunits,
mufers,andenginecompartmenttohelpprevent
res.Cleanupoilorfuelspills.
•Shutoffthefuelandremovethekeybeforestoring
ortransportingthemachine.
•Disengagethedrivetotheattachmentwhenever
youaretransportingornotusingthemachine.
•Allowtheenginetocoolbeforestoringthemachine
inanyenclosure.
•Neverstorethemachineorfuelcontainerwhere
thereisanopename,spark,orpilotlight,such
asonawaterheateroronotherappliances.
TransportingtheMachine
Useaheavy-dutytrailerortrucktotransportthe
machine.Useafull-widthramp.Ensurethatthetrailer
ortruckhasallthenecessarybrakes,lighting,and
markingasrequiredbylaw.Pleasecarefullyreadall
thesafetyinstructions.Knowingthisinformationcould
helpyouorbystandersavoidinjury.Refertoyour
localordinancesfortrailerandtie-downrequirements.
WARNING
Drivingonthestreetorroadwaywithout
turnsignals,lights,reectivemarkings,ora
slow-moving-vehicleemblemisdangerous
andcanleadtoaccidents,causingpersonal
injury.
Donotdrivethemachineonapublicstreet
orroadway.
SelectingaTrailer
WARNING
Loadingamachineontoatrailerortruck
increasesthepossibilityoftip-overandcould
causeseriousinjuryordeath(Figure35).
•Useonlyafull-widthramp;donotuse
individualrampsforeachsideofthe
machine.
•Donotexceeda15-degreeanglebetween
therampandthegroundorbetweenthe
rampandthetrailerortruck.
•Ensurethatthelengthoftherampisat
least4timesaslongastheheightofthe
trailerortruckbedtotheground.This
ensuresthattherampangledoesnot
exceed15degreesonatground.
