InspectingtheBelts
ServiceInterval:Every50hours
Checkthebeltswhenevertheysquealwhilerotating,
thebladesslipwhilecuttinggrass,orifthebeltshave
frayededges,burnmarks,orcracks.Ifanyofthese
conditionsoccur,replacethebelts.
ReplacingtheMowerBelt
Squealingwhenthebeltisrotating,bladesslipping
whencuttinggrass,frayedbeltedges,burnmarks
andcracksaresignsofawornmowerbelt.Replace
thebeltifanyoftheseconditionsareevident.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengage
theblade-controlswitch,andengagetheparking
brake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Lowerthemowertothe76mm(3inches)height
ofcut.
4.Removethebeltcovers(Figure61).
