oil;refertoCheckingtheEngineOilLevel.
ServicingtheSparkPlug
ServiceInterval:Every25hours—Checkthesparkplug.
Every100hours—Replacethesparkplug.
UseaChampionRC12YCorequivalentsparkplug.
Ensurethattheairgapbetweenthecenterandsideelectrodes
is0.76mmbeforeinstallingthesparkplug.Useasparkplug
wrenchforremovingandinstallingthesparkpluganda
gappingtoolorfeelergaugetocheckandadjusttheairgap.
RemovingtheSparkPlug
1.Disengagetheblades(PTO).
2.Settheparkingbrake.
3.Stoptheengineandwaitforallmovingpartstostop.
4.Removetheignitionkey.
5.Openthehood.
6.Disconnectthewirefromthesparkplug(Figure26).

1.Lookatthecenterofthesparkplug(Figure27).Ifyou
seelightbrownorgrayontheinsulator,theengineis
operatingproperly.Ablackcoatingontheinsulator
usuallymeansthattheaircleanerisdirty.

replacethesparkplugwhenithasablackcoating,
wornelectrodes,anoilylm,orcracks.

(Figure27)andbendthesideelectrodeifthegapis
notcorrect.
InstallingtheSparkPlug
1.Installthesparkplugandmetalwasher.Ensurethat
theairgapissetcorrectly.
2.Tightenthesparkplugto20.4N-m.
3.Connectthewiretothesparkplug(Figure26).
4.Closethehood.
