Cleaning
WashingtheUndersideof
theMower
ServiceInterval:Aftereachuse—Cleanthemower
housing.
Washtheundersideofthemoweraftereachuseto
preventgrassbuildupforimprovedmulchactionand
clippingdispersal.
Important:Youcanwashthemachinewithmild
detergentandwater.Donotpressurewashthe
machine.Avoidexcessiveuseofwater,especially
nearthecontrolpanel,undertheseat,aroundthe
engine,hydraulicpumps,andmotors.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceand
disengagethebladecontrolswitch.
2.Movethemotioncontrolleversoutwardtothe
parkposition,stoptheengine,removethekey,
andwaitforallmovingpartstostopbefore
leavingtheoperatingposition.
3.Attachthehosecouplingtotheendofthe
mowerwashouttting,andturnthewateron
high(Figure65).
Note:Spreadpetroleumjellyonthewashout
ttingO-ringtomakethecouplingslideon
easierandprotecttheO-ring.

5.Sitontheseatandstarttheengine.Engagethe
bladecontrolswitchandletthemowerrunfor
onetothreeminutes.
6.Disengagethebladecontrolswitch,stopthe
engine,andremovetheignitionkey.Waitforall
movingpartstostop.
7.Turnthewateroffandremovethecouplingfrom
thewashouttting.
Note:Ifthemowerisnotcleanafterone
washing,soakitandletitstandfor30minutes.
Thenrepeattheprocess.
8.Runthemachineandmowerbladesagainfor
onetothreeminutestoremoveexcesswater.
9.Turnoffthemowerblades.
WARNING
Abrokenormissingwashouttting
couldexposeyouandotherstothrown
objectsorbladecontact.Contactwith
bladeorthrowndebriscancauseinjury
ordeath.
•Replacebrokenormissingwashout
ttingimmediately,beforeusing
moweragain.
•Neverputyourhandsorfeetunder
themowerorthroughopeningsinthe
mower.
