1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengage

theblade-controlswitch,shutofftheengine,

engagetheparkingbrake,andremovethekey.

2.Makesurethattheengineisstopped,level,and

iscool,sotheoilhashadtimetodrainintothe

sump.

3.T okeepdirt,grassclippings,etc.,outofthe

engine,cleantheareaaroundtheoil-llcapand

dipstickbeforeremovingit(Figure30).
