FillingtheFuelTank
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.
2.Engagetheparkingbrake.
3.Shutofftheengineandremovethekey.
4.Cleanaroundthefuel-tankcap.
5.Fillthefueltankuntilthefuelgaugereadsatthefull
mark(Figure7).
Note:Donotllthefueltankcompletelyfull.The
emptyspaceinthetankallowsthefueltoexpand.

Beforeyoustarttheengineandusethemachine,check
theoillevelintheenginecrankcase;refertoCheckingthe
Engine-OilLevel(page14).
BreakinginaNewMachine
Newenginestaketimetodevelopfullpower.Mowerdecks
anddrivesystemshavehigherfrictionwhennew,placing
additionalloadontheengine.Allow40to50hoursof
break-intimefornewmachinestodevelopfullpowerand
bestperformance.
