conemustbeinstalledtowardthebolthead(Figure99).
Torquethebladeboltto85-110ft-lb(115-150N-m).

RemovingtheMowerDeck
Beforeservicingorremovingthemowerdeck,thespring
loadeddeckarmsmustbelockedout.
WARNING
Deckliftarmassemblieshavestoredenergy.
Removingthedeckwithoutreleasingthestored
energycancauseseriousinjuryordeath.
DoNotattempttodisassemblethedeckfromthe
frontframewithoutlockingoutthestoredenergy.
1.Stopengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,and
removekey.Engageparkingbrake.
2.Removetheheightadjustmentpinandlowerthedeck
totheground.
3.Placetheheightadjustmentpininthe3inch(7.6cm)
cuttingheightlocation.Thislocksthedeckliftarmsin
thelowestpositionwhenthedeckisremovedandthe
storedenergyinthedeckspringisreleased.
4.Removethebeltcovers.
5.Liftuptheoorpanandinsertaratchetintothesquare
holeinthedeckidler(
Figure100).
6.Rotatethedeckidlerclockwiseandremovethemower
belt(Figure100).
