blackcoating,wornelectrodes,anoilylm,or
cracks.
Ifyouseelightbrownorgrayontheinsulator,the
engineisoperatingproperly.Ablackcoatingonthe
insulatorusuallymeanstheaircleanerisdirty.
Setthegapto0.76mm(0.03inch).

1.Disengagetheblade-controlswitchandapply
theparkingbrake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Removetheairlterfromtheengine.
4.Removetheengineshroud.
5.Topreventdebrisenteringtheairintake,install
theairltertothelterbase.
6.Cleandebrisandgrassfromtheparts.
7.Removetheairlterandinstalltheengine
shroud.
8.Installtheairlter.
