WashingtheUndersideof
theMowerDeck
ServiceInterval:Aftereachuse—Cleanthe
mower-deckhousing.
Important:Youcanwashthemachinewithamild
detergentandwater.Donotpressurewashthe
machine.Avoidexcessiveuseofwater,especially
nearthecontrolpanel,undertheseat,aroundthe
engine,hydraulicpumps,andmotors.
Washtheundersideofthemowerdeckaftereachuse
topreventgrassbuildupforimprovedmulchaction
andclippingdispersal.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengage
theblade-controlswitch(PTO),andmovethe
motion-controlleversoutwardtothePARK
position.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Attachthehosecouplingtotheendofthe
mowerwashouttting,andturnthewateron
high(Figure77).
Note:Spreadpetroleumjellyonthewashout
ttingO-ringtomakethecouplingslideon
easierandprotecttheO-ring.

6.Engagetheblade-controlswitchandletthe
mowerrunfor1to3minutes.
7.Disengagetheblade-controlswitch,shutoffthe
engine,removethekey,andwaitforallmoving
partstostop.
8.Turnthewateroffandremovethecouplingfrom
thewashouttting.
Note:Ifthemowerisnotcleanafter1washing,
soakitandletitstandfor30minutes.Then
repeattheprocess.
9.Runthemoweragainfor1to3minutesto
removeexcesswater.
WARNING
Abrokenormissingwashouttting
couldexposeyouandotherstothrown
objectsorbladecontact.Contactwitha
bladeorthrowndebriscancauseinjury
ordeath.
Replacebrokenormissingwashout
ttingimmediately,beforeusing
machineagain.
Neverputyourhandsorfeetunder
themowerorthroughopeningsinthe
machine.
DisposingofWaste
Engineoil,batteries,hydraulicuid,andengine
coolantarepollutantstotheenvironment.Disposeof
theseaccordingtoyourstateandlocalregulations.
