Recommended Maintenance Schedule(s)
Maintenance Service Interval Maintenance Procedure
Before each use or daily • Check the safety interlock system
• Check the air cleaner for dirty, loose or damaged parts
• Clean the blower housing*
• Check the engine oil level
• Check the seat belt
• Check the rollover protection system (ROPS) knobs to make sure they are
locked
• Clean the engine screen and the area around the engine
• Clean around the engine exhaust system
• Check the hydraulic uid level in the expansion tank
• Inspect the blades
• Clean the mower deck
After the rst 5 hours • Toro engines - change the engine oil and lter
After the rst 75 hours • Change the hydraulic system lters and uid
Every 25 hours • Grease the front caster axles* (1500 and 2000 Series)
• Kohler engines - service or replace the air cleaner foam element*
• Toro engines - clean the air cleaner foam element*
Every 50 hours • Grease the mower deck idler pivot (2500 Series)
• Grease the pump idler pivot
• Check the spark arrester (if equipped)
• Check the tire pressure
• Inspect the belts for cracks and wear
Every 100 hours • Kawasaki engines - change the engine oil*
• Kawasaki engines - replace or clean and gap the spark plug
• Kohler engines - replace the air cleaner paper element*
• Kohler engines - change the engine oil and the engine oil lter
• Kohler engines - clean the cooling ns*
• Toro engines - replace the air cleaner foam element*
• Toro engines - service the air cleaner paper element*
• Toro engines - change the engine oil and oil lter*
• Toro engines - check the spark plug(s)
Every 200 hours • Kawasaki engines - change the engine oil lter*
• Kohler engines - check the spark plug(s)
• Toro engines - replace the air cleaner paper element*
• Toro engines - replace the spark plug(s)
Every 250 hours • Kawasaki engines - replace the primary air lter*
• Kawasaki engines - check the safety air lter
• (After the initial change) Change the hydraulic system lters and uid when
using Mobil1 15W50 uid (more often under severe conditions)
*More often under dusty, dirty conditions
