Servicing the Spark Plugs
Service Interval: Every 200 hours - Check the spark plugs
Every 500 hours - Replace the spark plugs
NOTE: The spark plug is RFI compliant. Equivalent alternate brand plugs can also be used.
Make sure the air gap between the center and side electrodes is correct before installing the spark plug. Use a
spark plug wrench to remove and install the spark plug. Use a gapping tool or feeler gauge to check and adjust
the air gap. Install a new spark plug if necessary.
Type: Champion XC12YC
Air Gap: 0.030 inch (.76 mm)
Removing the Spark Plug
1. Park the machine on a level surface, disengage the PTO, stop the engine, engage parking brake, and remove
the key.
2. Disconnect the wire from the spark plug.
NOTE: Due to the deep recess around the spark plug, blowing out the cavity with compressed air is
usually the most effective method for cleaning. The spark plug is most accessible when the
blower housing is removed for cleaning.
