Hydraulic System Maintenance
Hydraulic System Safety
• Ensure that all hydraulic-uid hoses and lines are in good condition and all hydraulic connections and
ttings are tight before applying pressure to the hydraulic system.
• Keep your body and hands away from pinhole leaks or nozzles that eject high-pressure hydraulic uid.
• Use cardboard or paper to nd hydraulic leaks
• Relieve all pressure in the hydraulic system before performing any work on the hydraulic system.
• Seek immediate medical attention if uid is injected into skin.
Servicing the Hydraulic System
Hydraulic Fluid Type: Toro® HYPR-OIL™ 500 hydraulic uid (preferred) or Mobil 1 15W-50 oil.
IMPORTANT: Use the uid specied. Other uids could cause system damage.
Hydraulic System Capacity (with a lter change): 150 oz. (4.45 L)
Checking the Hydraulic Fluid Level
Service Interval: Before each use or daily
1. Allow the hydraulic uid to cool down. Check the oil level when the oil is cold.
2. Check the expansion tank and if necessary add Toro® HYPR-OIL™ 500 hydraulic uid to the FULL COLD line
(Figure 30).
