RemovingtheMowerDeck
Beforeservicingorremovingthemowerdeck,the
spring-loadeddeckarmsmustbelockedout.
WARNING
Deck-lift-armassemblieshavestoredenergy.
Removingthedeckwithoutreleasingthestored
energycancauseseriousinjuryordeath.
Donotattempttodisassemblethedeckfromthe
frontframewithoutlockingoutthestoredenergy.
1.Stoptheengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,
removethekey,andengagetheparkingbrake.
2.Removetheheight-adjustmentpinandlowerthedeck
totheground.
3.Placetheheight-adjustmentpininthe7.6cm(3inches)
cutting-heightlocation.
Note:Thislocksthedeck-liftarmsinthelowest
positionwhenthedeckisremovedandthestored
energyinthedeckspringisreleased.
4.Removethebeltcovers.
5.Liftuptheoorpanandinsertaratchetintothesquare
holeinthedeckidler(
Figure98).
6.Rotatethedeckidlerclockwiseandremovethemower
belt(Figure98).
