Upper bafe

Bolt (5/16 x 5/8 inch)

Flange-head nut (5/16 inch)

Bolt (1/4 x 5/8 inch)

Locknut (1/4 inch)

Install the upper bafe.

Kicker plate

Phillips head screw (#8 x 5/8 inch)

Install the kicker plates.

Discharge cover

Bolt (1/4 x 2-1/2 inches)

Cap nut (1/4 inch)

Install the discharge cover.

Recycling decal

Instal the decal.

Recycling mower blade

Install the blades and mower

Procedure

1. Stop the engine and remo v e the ignition k ey .

2. R emo v e the mo w er as described in y our

Operator’ s Manual .

3. T ur n the mo w er upside do wn.

4. R emo v e the mo w er blades as described in y our

Operator’ s Manual .

5. Locate the holes illustrated in Figure 1 and

proceed as follo ws:

• If any of the holes ha v e fasteners in them,

remo v e the fasteners .

• If any of the holes ha v e ri v ets in them, drill

out the center of eac h ri v et with a 3/16

inc h (5 mm) drill bit and discard the ri v et.

Align the three kicker plates with holes toward the top of the mower (Figure 3). The long slope of the kickers must be face inward. Operation Operating Tips Selecting the Proper Height-of-Cut Setting to Suit the Conditions Converting to Side-discharge Operation Remove approximately one inch or no more that 1/3 of the grass blade when cutting. In exceptionally lush and dense grass you may have to raise the height-of-cut setting another notch or convert to side discharge or bagging operations.
