orsandy.
RemovingtheFoamandPaper
Elements
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceanddisengage
thebladecontrol(PTO).
2.Movethemotioncontrolleverstothebrakeposition,
stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
3.Removetheenginehoodandengineducttoaccess
theenginecomponents.
4.Cleanaroundtheaircleanertopreventdirtfrom
gettingintotheengineandcausingdamage.Unlatch
thetwosidelatchesandremovetheaircleanercover
(Figure31).
5.Carefullyremovethefoamelementfromthepaper
element(Figure31).
6.Unscrewthewingnutandremovethepaperelement
(Figure31).

1.FoamElement
A.Washthefoamelementinliquidsoapand
warmwater.Whentheelementisclean,rinse
itthoroughly.
B.Drytheelementbysqueezingitinacleancloth
(donotwring).Allowtheelementtoairdry.
C.Soaktheelementinnewengineoil.(Figure32).
Squeezetheelementtoremoveexcessoil.
Important:Replacethefoamelementifit
istornorworn.
