wrenchorareuncomfortableperformingthis
procedure,contactanAuthorizedServiceDealer.
Examinethebladesforsharpnessandanywearor
damagewheneveryourunoutofgasoline;refer
toInspectingtheBlades(page21).Ifthebladeedge
isdullornicked,haveitsharpenedorreplaceit.Ifthe
bladeisworn,bent,damagedorcracked,replaceit
immediatelywithagenuineTororeplacementblade.
DANGER
Awornordamagedbladecanbreak,andapiece
ofthebladecouldbethrowntowardtheoperator
orabystander,resultinginseriouspersonalinjury
ordeath.
Inspectthebladesperiodicallyforwearor
damage.
Replaceawornordamagedblade.
Note:Maintainsharpbladesthroughoutthecutting
season,becausesharpbladescutcleanlywithouttearing
orshreddingthegrassblades.Tearingandshredding
turnsgrassbrownattheedges,whichslowsgrowthand
increasesthechanceofdisease.

1.Lockthehandleintheverticalposition(Figure41);
refertoAdjustingtheHandleHeight(page10).

1.Inspectthecuttingedges(Figure42).Iftheedges
arenotsharporhavenicks,removethebladesand
havethemsharpenedorreplacethem.
2.Inspectthebladesthemselves,especiallythecurved
area(
Figure42).Ifyounoticeanydamage,wear,or
aslotforminginthisarea(Figure42),immediately
replaceitwithanewblade.
