As a recently retired Financial
Systems Coordinator from
Baltimore, Md., I thought it would
be fun to be closer to my grandkids,
so I picked up and moved to
California! I’m having a great
time using the Torpedo™ with them.
They love to help--and clean up is
so easy! It saves a lot of time when
prepping several things at once. I do
not know how to chop anything, so
the Torpedo™ does the work for me!
Split Pea Soup
Makes 12 servings
1 cooked ham bone, with meat
still clinging
10 cups water
2 yellow onions, peeled and quartered
2 cups baby carrots
4 stalks celery, trimmed and quartered
5 bay leaves
1 lb. dried split peas
1 tsp. dried or fresh thyme
1. Place ham bone, water, onions, carrots,
celery and bay leaves in a large soup pot.
2. Bring to a boil, turn down the heat to low
and simmer covered for 2 hrs.
3. Remove ham bone, allow to cool slightly
and cut or pull off any cooked meat.
Return cut ham to pot and discard the
bone. Discard the bay leaves.
4. Add split peas and thyme and simmer
uncovered for 1 hr. or until peas are soft.
5. Pour hot soup mixture into the Torpedo™
and lock lid into place. PULSE several
times to combine, leaving the mixture
somewhat chunky for texture, and
serve hot.

This drink is great for my
grandkids. It gets them to eat
parsley which has so many
nutrients!”-Pat
