Tip: If you can find a deep waffle iron, you’ll create a more authentic
European waffle.
Variations: Serve with butter, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries or
blueberries. Top with whipped cream, or simply eat the American way- with
maple syrup and butter. Quite a treat!
2 cups Bisquick ™ mix
2 raw eggs
1 tsp. cinnamon
¼ tsp. nutmeg
2 tbsp. brown sugar
½ cup 2% milk
1. Place all ingredients into the Torpedo™ and
lock lid into place. Press AUTO to blend.
2. Once mixture is smooth, allow to rest for
about 10 min.
3. Heat waffle iron, spray with butter flavored
cooking spray and toast waffles until soft but
slightly crisp and light in color.
European Waffles
Makes 2-4
servings
7 med. eggs or 6 large eggs
6 tbsp. butter, softened
1 cup 2% milk
¼ tsp. cinnamon (optional)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1. Place eggs, butter, milk and cinnamon in
the Torpedo™ and lock lid into place.
PULSE once.
2. Pour all flour into center of canister and allow
the Torpedo™ to mix just until well combined
but with visible small clumps of butter.
3. Pour batter into a well-greased 9 x 13 inch
metal pan and bake for 20 min. at 400°.
4. Turn oven down to 350° and bake 8-10
more min. or until pancakes form golden
brown peaks. Your pancakes will have lots
of mounds and hills: that is perfect!
German Pancakes
I recently got married and we spent our wonderful honeymoon touring Europe!
One morning, we were in England and had the most delicious waffles ever! After
eating a couple of them, I began to write down what I thought the recipe might be.
And when we came back to the States, I just had to try it out. Sure enough (with
the exception that U.S. waffle makers produce thinner waffles than European
makers do) I made pretty much the same waffle. Now you can give it a try!
