3. If this fan is not replacing an old fan, be sure
to cut a 7-1/2 in. x 7-1/4 in. opening for the
fan housing.
4. Place the fan housing (A) next to a ceiling joist
or wall stud. The fan housing should be level
and perpendicular to the joist or stud. Allow for
thickness of ceiling board used in your applica-
tion. DO NOT ush mount to joist. Bottom of fan
housing (A) should be ush with ceiling board.
5. If needed before mounting the fan housing to
the joist, remove the plastic duct connector for
easier access to the mounting hole on the fan
body.
Remove the duct connector by inserting a at
head screw driver between the plastic and metal
of the housing, then GENTLY pry the duct
connector off.
6. Mount fan body to the joist or stud using long
wood screws (AA) where indicated by arrows
outside fan housing (A).
