Troubleshooting
Before calling a service technician, please check the following table for a possible cause of the problem and
some solutions.
Problem Solution
°PC will not turn on • Make sure the power cord is plugged in, then press POWER.
• The remote control batteries may be dead. Replace the batteries.
No picture, no sound • Check the antcnnalcablc connections.
No sound, picture OK • The sound may be muted. Press VOLUME.
• The station may have broadcast difficulties. °I_yMother channel.
• Check that the SPEAKERS function in AUDIO menu is set properly.
Poor picture, sound OK
• Check the antenna connections.
• The station may have broadcast difficulties. °I_y,another channel.
• Adjust the PICI'URE menu.
Poor reception of broadcast channds • The station may have broadcast difficulties. °I_y ,another channel.
• Check the antenna connections.
• If you ,-ireusing a VCR, make sure the °I'V/_fCR button is set
correctly.
Cannot receive above channel 13 • Make sure the °P¢ICABLE switch is set to the mode that
corresponds with the signal source type (cable company or outside
,antenna).
Black box appeas on the screen • The dosed caption f_ature may be set to one of the °I_xt modes (F1,
°1"2,°1"3,or T4). °Iurn closed captioning OFE
Unable to select a certain channel
• The channel may be locked out with the CH LOCK f_ature, or
erased with the ADD/ERASE J:cature.
Multiple im_es • The station may have broadcast difficulties. °I_y,another channel.
• Antenna reception may be poor. Use a highly directional outdoor
,antenna.
Poor color or no color • The station may have broadcast difficulties. °I_y,another channel.
• Adjust the TINT andlor COLOR in the PICTURE menu.
No stereo or SAP sound from a • Make sure the MTS f_ature is set properly.
known MTS broadcast
The front panel buttons do not operae • Check the FRONT PANEL LOCK f_ature.
The remote control does not operate • Check whether the appropriate device mode is selected.
• Remove all obstructions between the remote control ,andthe remote
control sensor in the °I_r.
• The remote control batteries may be dead. Replace the batteries.
Cannot access signal input sources
0¢idco 1, Video2, Video3,
ColorStream HD IlHD2) andlor
Ch_nels 3 and 4.
• Check the VIDEO LOCK f_ature.
