Introduction Connecting your Monitor Note: Cables are not supplied with your monitor. ● Standard A/V (audio/video) cables usually come in sets of three, and are typically color-coded according to use: yellow for video, red for stereo right audio, and white for stereo left (or mono) audio. S-video cable is for use with video equipment with S-video output. Separate audio cables are required for a complete connection.

Connecting your monitor to a DVD player with component video output (such as a Toshiba DVD player with ColorStream) can greatly enhance picture quality and realism.

Connecting your Monitor Connecting two VCRs This connection allows you to record (dub/edit) from one VCR to another VCR while watching a videotape. – To record one program while watching another, tune VCR1 to the channel to record, tune VCR2 to the channel to watch, and select VIDEO 2 on the monitor.

Using the long life feature The long life settings (Picture shift, Side panel, Inverse, and White pattern) help to reduce the risk of phosphor burn-in of the plasma screen. Picture shift With picture shift set to on, the picture imperceptibly moves around the screen intermittently to reduce the risk of phosphor burn-in of the plasma screen. To activate the picture shift feature: 1. Press MENU, and then press x or • until the FUNCTION menu appears. 2. Press y or z to highlight LONG LIFE.

Adjusting the picture Selecting the picture mode You can select your desired picture type from four picture modes: Sports, Standard, Movie, and Preference.
Introduction Adjusting the picture quality You can adjust the picture quality to your personal preferences, including the contrast, brightness, color, tint, sharpness, black stretch, and color temperature.
Using the MPEG NR feature The MPEG NR (noise reduction) feature allows you to reduce visible interference caused by MPEG compression. 1. Press MENU, and then press x or • until the PICTURE menu appears. 2. Press y or z to highlight PICTURE SETTINGS, and then press ENTER. The PICTURE SETTINGS menu appears. 3.
