Connecting your TV
Note: One IR blastercable is provided withyour TK No other cables ale p/ov/ded
Coaxialcable isthe cane that comes inhom your antenna, cableTVservice,or cable
converter box.Coaxialcable has"F connectors.
Standard stereo A/V cables usuallycome in setsof three, and are typically color-coded
according to use:yellow for video, red for stereo right audio,and white for stereo left [or
mono) audio.YourTV'sstandard A/V inputs are color-coded in the samemanner as
the cables.
S-video cable isfor use with video equipment that has an S-Video connecton
Componentvideo cables come in sets of three (typically colopcoded red+green, and
blue),and are for usewith video equipment that hascomponent video connectors.Your
TV's CotoiStream (componentvideo) inputs are color-coded inthe same manneras the
cables.
DVI-D digital single-link cable is for usewith video equipment that has a DVI-D digital
sing]edink connector (see page 14).
NOTE REGARDINGPICTUREQUALITY
When connecting video equipment to your Toshiba TV:
ForGOOD picture quality: Use a standard stereo PJV yellow video cable,
ForBETTERpicture quality: If your equipment basan S-video connector, use an
S-video cane insteadof a standard yellow video cable. (You still mustconnect tile
standard red andwhite audio cables for full systemconnection, but donot connect
astandardyellow videocable at tbe sametimeor tile picture performance will be
unacceptable.)
For BESTpicture quality: If your equipment hascomponent video connectors,
use component video cablesinstead ofa standardyellow video cable or an S-video
cable [plus the standard redand white audiocables for full systemconnection.) If your
equipment hasa DVI-D digital single-link connector, use a DVI-D cable [plus standard
red and white audio cablesconnected to "DVI/HDCPIN" for full system connection).
IR blaster cable is usedto remotely control other A/V equipment (equipped with an an
infrared sensor)through the TV (see page 15).

CAUTION: Do not plug in any power cords
until you have finished connecting all equipment.
Connecting a VCR
This connection allows you to watch local channels and video
programs, play or record on the VCR while watching TV, and record
one channel while watching another channel.
You will need:
two coaxial cables
one set of standard MV cables
Note:
if you have amono VCR,connect L/Mono to
VCRAudio OUTusing only one audio cable
ff you have an S VHS VCR,usean S v/dee
cable insteadof the standard v/deecable
Do not connect astandard v/dee cable and
an S v/deecable to Video 1 CotV/dee2) at
thesame t/me or the picture performance will
be unacceptable
