Using the closed caption feature
You have two options with the closed caption feature: captions or text.
A caption is a printed version of the dialogue, narration and/or sound
effects ofa TV program. Text is information not related to the
program that appears on half of the TV screen.
To view captions or text:
1. Select the desired program. The captioned programs are usually
marked in your local TV listing by "CC."
2. Press MENU, then press • or • until the C.CAPT menu appears.
3. Press • or • to highlight CLOSED CAPTION.
4. Press < or !_ to select the dosed caption mode.
• Select C1, C2, C3, or C4 to view captions. Select CI for
translation of the primary language in your area.

Note:
A dosed caption signal may not be decoded
inthe follo_,_ngsituations:
• when a video tape has been dubbed
• when the signal reception is weak
• when the signal reception is non-
standard
When you choose a dosed captioned channel
and the text mode, the text screen always
appears. When there is no signal, however,
the text screen _ill not display text characters.
• Select T1, T2, T3, or T4 to view Text.
5. To turn offthe closed-captioned feature, select OFF in step 4.
