Restoring the preinstalled software
If preinstalled software files are damaged, you will need to restore
them from the Toshiba Recovery CD-ROM or the Toshiba Tools and
Utilities CD-ROM.
The Tools & Utilities CD-ROM and the Recovery CD-ROM are voluntary
services of Toshiba. If your computer has no CD-ROM drive, both backup
CD-ROMs can be run by an optional CD-ROM drive that is available from
Toshiba.
Restoring the complete system
Use the Toshiba Recovery CD-ROM to perform a complete recovery of
the operating system and Toshiba Utilities, and follow the steps below.
When you reinstall the complete system, the hard disk will be reformatted
and all data on it will be lost. Make sure you have a backup copy of your
data, before you perform a complete system recovery.
1. Insert the Toshiba Recovery CD-ROM, Disk #1 in the computer’s
CD-ROM drive and reboot the system.
2. Follow the on-screen directions to restore the preinstalled software.
3. Install your personal software according to instructions that
accompanied each application.
Restoring Toshiba utilities and drivers
If Windows is working properly, individual drivers or applications can be
separately restored. Use the Tools and Utilities CD-ROM according to
instructions in the booklet contained in the CD box to reinstall Toshiba
utilities and drivers.
