PRECAUTIONS

This unit is not disconnecte d from the AC power sourc e as long as it is conn ected to the wall outlet, e ven if th e
unit itself is in standby m ode.
NOTE
The rating label and the saf ety caution are on the r ear of the un it.
Changes or modifications to this equipment not express ly authorised or approved by Toshiba could void the
product warrant y and/or ca use damage to the produc t.
In order to con tinue to get t he max imum perf ormance from your receiver:
Make sure that it is set up p roperl y.
Have it regularl y inspected by qualified s ervice per sonnel.
Make sure that all fam ily mem bers learn to operate it properl y.
In particular: T o prevent ele ctric shock , instruct c hildren not to insert o bjects int o the receiv er’s holes or sl ots.
POWER CORD CAUTIONS
W hen plugging in or unplu gging the po wer cord, hold it b y the plug. Do n ot unplug it by pulling on th e cord.
Do not touch th e cord with wet hands as t his could ca use electrical s hock or short.
Do not place f urniture, etc ., on top of th e power c ord.
Do not tie up th e power cor d, or con nect a diff erent power cord.
Route the pow er cord so t hat it is not s tepped on, or tripped o ver.
Using a damaged power cord cou ld res
ult in fire or electric shock. Inspect the po wer cord for damage. If
damaged, consu lt your nea rest T OSHIBA service ce ntre.
SAFETY MEASURES ON PROPER USAGE
Pay a ttention t o the f ollowing item s when us ing this unit. Failure to do s o m ay r esult in electric shoc k or da mage
to the unit.
1. Connect the po wer plug to AC 100-240V 50/60Hz.
2. Unplug the power cor d from the receiver befor e connecting an y other equipment, esp ecially the TV
antenna. Connec t all equi pm ent to the receiver bef ore pluggi ng an y power cords to the power sourc e.
3. Be sure your T V antenna is not located near o verhea d power lines, or where it m ight f all into an y power
lines. Also be c areful to a void touching any such po wer lines when installing the TV anten na.
4. Do not attem pt to m odify the unit.
5. If you hear a str ange s ound or notice sm oke coming f rom the unit or feel that the unit is too hot to touch,
turn the power of f imm ediatel y, unplug the power cord, and co nsult with your local sales outl et.
6. Do not i nsert m etal objec ts, paper or l iquids into the unit throu gh the ventilation openings, etc. This could
result in fire or electr ic s hock. In the event som ething is inserted ins ide, turn the power of f, unplug the
power cord and consult your local sales outlet.
7. Do not place o bjects that m ay block the ventilation openings of the unit such as a piece of cloth.
8. Do not place vases, bottles , containers, naked flam e sources s uch as lighted candles etc., on t op of or
near this unit.
9. W hen transporting, do not vibrate or shak e the unit. T his m ay result in dam age or f aulty operation.
10. If a three-pron g power p lug is provided with recei ver, be sure it is used with a properl y grounde d three-
wise power sock et.
11. W hen transporting the unit, be sure to tur n off the power and disc onnect all c ables .
12. W hen not using the unit f or a long period of time ( when on vacat ion, etc.) unp lug the p ower cord.
13. Avoid overload ing electrica l outlets or ex tension c ords other wise it cou ld result in electric shoc k or fire.
14. W hen lightning begins, do not touch an y part of the re ceiver inc luding the po wer cor d and an y connected
cables.
