STEP C: SETTING UP YOUR RECEIVER

Note: If your s ervice provid er or antenn a insta ller has already ins talled your T V s ystem to recei ve t errestrial TV

program s, do not c hange any con nections of thos e d evices or installation settin gs unless it is absolut ely

necessar y.

If your s ervice provid er or s ystem installer has not co nfigured your recei ver, it will not be set up for an y

specific channel or f requenc y when p owered on f or the first tim e. In this cas e you shou ld f ollow the s teps

below to set u p your rece iver.

Switch on th e TV.

Using your TV’s r emote c ontrol, se lect the appropriate external Audio/Video input on your T V acc ording to

the connection you have m ade in Step A .

Make sure t he rece iver is alread y in po wer-on m ode ( Left RED LED on f ront panel is off ). If it is in standb y

mode (Left RED LED in re d c olour), switch on the r eceiver by pressing the “ST ANDBY/ON” button on the f ront

panel of the rec eiver or on the rem ote control.

A mess age “Database is Em pty” s hould appear af ter a while. If you can s ee the mess age, g o to Step 5

directly. How ever, if you ca nnot see t he m essage on the sc reen even af ter a long time, change the video form at

by pressing V.FORM AT button on rem ote control or o n the f ront pan el. Press V.FO RMAT butt on until you see

the mess age “Database is Empt y”.

Note: W hen you pres s V.F ORMAT button, the Video Format Indicat or on the re ceiver ’s f ront panel wi ll d isplay

among “576i” (for HD MODE S witch being set to YP

onl y), “A UTO” , “1080i”, “720p” and “ 576p”. After you

press V.FORM AT button, m ake sure the fr ont panel displa y has change d before you press the butt on again.

After you see a m essage “Da tabase is Em pty” appears , press the “ MENU ” button. A “Region Selec tion”

menu appears.

Use the directiona l buttons “ ◄” and “►” to

highlight your region

of r esidence an d press t he

“ENTER” button t o m ake your selec tion.

The

region

setup process m a y tak e a fe w minutes

to complete.

Selection ” menu does not

appear, ref er to “RESET DATA” on page 31
