2 TROUBLESHOOTING
Phenomenon Solution
(1) The rec eiver front panel power indicat or
doesn't light up, and no m essage on the
front panel
(a) Chec k the AC m ains suppl y and m ake sure the po wer plug is
well plugged in to a stable p ower outlet.
(2) Poor picture quality
- occasional picture pixe lization
(a) Chec k the antenn a and m ak e sure it is aligned to t he correc t
direction. Use th e receiver' s "MANUAL S ETUP" pa ge to check
the signal's leve l and qualit y when alignin g the anten na.
(b) If you use an y kind of am plifier to boos t the signal le vel, check
whether it work s well, and ask help fr om the antenn a installer.
(c) Ensur e that the co nnectors to antenna ar e securel y fastened.
(3) No sound (a) Chec k the rec eiver and your T V's volume are prop erl y set and
not in “Mute" m ode.
(b) Chec k the audio co nnectors are correctl y and firm ly connected.
(c) Mak e sure the rece iver is s witched to the c orrect aud io m ode:
Dolby® Digital or PCM.
(d) Res can this chan nel b y using "MANUAL S ETUP".
(e) S witch to other ch annels fo r conf irmation on audi o.
(4) No picture (a) Chec k whether t he HD MO DE Switch is set to the c orrect
mode.
(b) Chec k whether your TV su pports the rec eiver’s cur rent video
form at. Use the “V.FORMA T” button to s witch the vi deo form at
to the one sup ported b y your T V.
(c) Chec k the vide o cable(s) are c orrectly and f irm ly connected.
(d) Res can this chan nel b y using "MANUAL S ETUP".
(e) S witch to other ch annels fo r conf irmation on video.
(f) Reduce RF amplifier ga in if connecte d to RF b ooster.
(5) W rong color on screen

Try "MANUAL S ETUP" to s can these m issing channel s.
This phenom enon is cause d b y unexpected frequenc y of fset, for
instance, in Suns hine Coas t Australia, c hannels 47 and 65 are
transm itted on 662.625 an d 788.625MH z b y 125kHz off set to the
legitimate fr equencies 662. 5 and 788.5 MHz. HD-C 26H can rec eive
these channels b y “AUTO SCAN” m ost of the tim e, but we suggest
that you use “M ANUAL S ET UP” when installing the r ec eiver for the
first time. Onc e the receiver pick s up the signal, all the trans mis sion
parameters will be stored in the receiver ’s mem ory.
(7) Not all chann els are a vailable after us i

“QUICK SCAN”
(a) T ry "AUTO SCAN" to scan all the chan nels.
(b)
If you still cann ot get som e channels, use “ MANUA L SETU P” to
scan them one by one.
(8) Cannot lock signal b y using “MANU AL
SETUP”
(a) Chec k the f requency that you entered is exac tly the c enter
frequenc y of the wanted ch annel.
(b) Ref er to soluti ons in Pheno m enon (2) above.
(9) No Teletext / Closed Ca ption Make s ure the channel t hat you are watching carri es Teletext /
Closed Caption i nform ation from I-PLATE.
(10) Cannot rece ive chann els after m oving
the receiver between ci ties (e.g. f rom
Melbourne t o Sydne y)

(11) The rem ote control do es not wor k
properly
(a) Point t he rem ote control at the rem ote sensor of the rec eiver.
(b) O perate the rem ote control within about 5m .
(c) Repl ace the batter ies with new ones.
(d) Ensur e the rem ote control is in STB m ode b y pressing the STB
button.
