Optical digital audio out plug Stereo headphones plug
When you want to connect an optical digital audio-out cable with TOSLINK
plug you can use an adaptor plug as shown in the figure below.

When you connect an optical digital audio-out cable (optional) directly to
your digital stereo receiver port or stereo headphone jack, the internal
speakers of your computer are disabled.

This jack lets you connect digital speakers or
stereo headphones (16 ohm minimum). When
you connect a device to this jack, the internal
speaker is automatically disabled.
This jack can also be used for a S/PDIF
connection to allow optical digital devices to be
attached.
The figures below show examples of connectors that can be plugged into
the headphone jack. Please note that these plugs are not bundled with the
computer:
