Introduction Notes and Information Structure of disc contents On cleaning discs Normally, DVD video discs are divided into titles, and the titles are sub-divided into chapters. VIDEO CDs/audio CDs are divided into tracks. Fingerprints and dust on the disc may cause picture and sound deterioration. Wipe the disc from the center outwards with a soft cloth. Always keep the disc clean.
This owner’s manual explains the basic instructions of this unit. Some DVD video discs are produced in a manner that allows specific or limited operation during playback. As such, the unit may not respond to all operating commands. This is not a defect in the unit. Refer to instruction notes of discs. “ ” may appear on the screen during operation. Introduction How to use the main unit You can use the main unit in three ways. Open the LCD monitor Adjusting the direction of the LCD monitor 1 Firmly press down on the main unit to setup the LCD monitor. 1 Raise the switch located on the back of the LCD monitor. 2 Open the LCD monitor. 2 Push the LCD monitor forward. If the LCD monitor is opened more than 90 degrees, the main unit may overturn, so be careful.
To remove a disc Move the LCD monitor to the upward direction as shown below. Introduction How to use when hanging it on a wall You can use the main unit with the LCD monitor bent back 180 degrees. Open the disc cover. OPEN Press OPEN on the main unit. The disc cover opens. • If the LCD monitor is not moved to the upward position and the disc cover is opened, the disc cover will hit against the LCD monitor and may break. A professional will perform the wall installation.

DVD-V VCD CD Basic playback Changing to the DVD mode The LCD TV/DVD combination can be switched to TV mode, DVD mode etc. and used. To play back a DVD video disc, VIDEO CD or AUDIO CD, switch to the DVD mode. INPUT SELECT TV CAUTION • Keep your fingers clear of the disc as it is spinning. Neglecting to may cause serious personal injury.
To obtain a higher quality picture (When connected to a TV) SET UP TOP MENU MENU / / ENTER PLAY STOP / Occasionally, some picture noise not usually visible during a normal broadcast may appear on the TV screen while playing a DVD video disc because the high resolution pictures on these discs include a lot of information. While the amount of noise depends on the TV you use with this unit, you should generally reduce the sharpness adjustment on the connected TV when viewing DVD video discs.
