Set Up and Care Guide

1
We hope you love your new purchase! Please review the tips below to prolong the life of your toilet.
Specifications vary across brands, so consult your user manual for detailed care instructions specific to your
purchase. We recommend keeping a copy of both instructions for future reference.
Handling
Toilets can be heavy! Please handle carefully – it may be a two-person
job. If you have a one-piece toilet, support the bowl with one arm and
the tank with the other. If you have a two-piece toilet, move the parts
separately to avoid damaging them.
Cleaning
Your toilet should be cleaned at least once a week. Always use a soft sponge or cloth, and mild soap.
Do not use chlorine or chemicals, as it can cause damage to your toilet’s components.
Troubleshooting
Toilet is Overflowing
1. Open the toilet tank. Push down the flapper to help stop the water.
2. Shut o the water supply. This will help you pinpoint the problem
and troubleshoot accordingly.
3. Check the other drains in your home. If they are not functioning
properly, there could be a blockage in your system.
Toilet Isn’t Flushing
1. Check your water level. If it is too low, the toilet will not flush. Ensure the water is filled to about an inch
under the overflow line.
2. Check the handle. If it is loose, simply tighten it with a wrench.
3. Check your fill valve. Push the float down and see if any water moves through the valve. If it doesn’t, your
fill valve likely needs to be cleaned or replaced.
Toilet is Leaking
1. Wipe up the water with a towel. If water is forming around the bottom of the toilet, there may be a leak in
the tank.
2. Check the underside of the toilet. If it is wet, tighten the fill valve and tank bolts.
3. Check the wax ring. If it is wet, replace it.
Toilet Won’t Stop Running
1. Make sure the handle isn’t too tight. It should be able to fall into its resting place after flushing.
2. Check the pull chain. Ensure it has enough slack to allow the flapper to close completely.
