❑ Sewing the left side of the zipper
1 Align the zipper and fabric, and tack them together.
* For details on tacking, refer to “Tacking” (page 84), or sew tacking by
hand.
2 Attach the right-side pin of the zipper foot to the presser
foot holder.
3 Position the fabric so that the zipper is on the right side of
the presser foot and groove runs on the zip teeth.
4 Sew until just before the presser foot makes contact with
the slider, and then stop the sewing machine.
5 Turn the handwheel towards yourself to lower the needle
into the fabric. Otherwise, press the (needle up/down)
button to lower the needle.
