This chapter describes how to configure the basic functions of your TL-WR642G Wireless Router. These procedures only take you a few minutes. You can access the Internet via the router immediately after successfully configuring. 3.1 TCP/IP configuration The default IP address of the TL-WR642G 108Mbps Wireless Router is 192.168.1.1.

TL-WR642G 3.2 108M Wireless Router User Guide Quick Installation Guide With a Web-based (Internet Explorer or Netscape® Navigator) utility, it is easy to configure and manage the TL-WR642G 108Mbps Wireless Router. The Web-based utility can be used on any Windows, Macintosh or UNIX OS with a Web browser. Connect to the router by typing http://192.168.1.1 in the address field of Web browser. Configuring the Router This chapter describes each Web page's key functions. 4.1 Login After your successful login, you can configure and manage the router. There are twelve main menus on the left of the Web-based utility. Submenus will be available after you click one of the main menus.

If disabled, the wireless stations will be able to connect the router without encryption. It is recommended strongly that you choose this option to encrypt your wireless network. The encryption settings are described below. ¾ Authentication Type - You can select one of the following authentication types: • WEP - Select WEP authentication type based on 802.11 authentications.

Reserved IP addresses should be assigned to servers that require permanent IP settings. This page is used for address reservation (shown in Figure 4-22).
