TRAFFICMASTER RECLAIMED OAK
CARE AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Please follow the simple instructions outlined below to ensure your Trafficmaster
Reclaimed Oak floors look as good in the future as the day they were installed:
General Care Guidelines
Place walk off mats and area rugs at main entrances to minimize abrasive debris that
may be tracked in on shoes.
Place protective pads under furniture legs and other movable furniture.
Use protective mats under wheeled office-type chairs.
Avoid using lacquers, polishes, waxes or detergent based cleaners as they will leave a
film/residue on the surface of your Trafficmaster Reclaimed Oak floors and may cause
damage beyond repair. The surface of Trafficmaster Reclaimed Oak laminate floors
does not require refinishing and will maintain its original appearance.
Never use abrasive cleaners on your Trafficmaster Reclaimed Oak laminate floors.
Never flood your floor or wet mop it. Using excessive liquid on your floor may cause
plank edges to swell and become damaged beyond repair.
Never use a steam cleaner on Trafficmaster Reclaimed Oak laminate floors as the
steam may cause plank edges to swell and become damaged beyond repair.
Daily Cleaning Guidelines
For daily cleaning use a dust mop or vacuum with hard surface attachment to remove
dust, loose dirt or debris.
For more thorough cleaning, where a cleaning solution may be required, please use a
water-based laminate floor cleaner. Alternatively, you can make your own cleaner by
combining 1 cup of vinegar to 1 gallon of warm water, or 1/3 cup of ammonia to 1
gallon of warm water. Apply cleaner by lightly spraying/misting the floor and wipe up
immediately.
To remove stubborn stains, apply acetone (nail polish remover) to a cotton cloth and
gently rub the stained area.
