Care and Maintenance
BEFORE INSTALLATION
All instructions and recommendations are based on the most recent information available, for the latest version of this guide please consult www.homedepot.com and search for your product SKU. These instructions should be
followed for an ideal installation.
□ DO NOT install over nished or pre nished hardwood ooring, polyurethane or varnished nishes.
□ DO NOT install over a sealed suboor.
□ DO NOT install over radiant heated oors that are maintained at temperatures greater than 85°F (29°C).
□ DO NOT install in exterior areas or where vinyl oors will be exposed to the elements.
□ DO NOT install in garages or areas that will be damp.
□ DO NOT install on below grade concrete.
□ DO NOT install over unsuitable or unstable subooring such as chipboard, OSB, luan plywood, mahogany based plywood underlayments, Masonite™, cement board, ber based backing boards, or any other non-underlayment
grade panel.
□ DO NOT install over concrete that has been painted or contains any contaminants, grease, oil, solvents or stains.
□ NEVER use solvent based or chemical oor preparation materials. DO NOT use primers or llers that are manufactured for use with paint or products other than vinyl ooring.
□ NEVER use solvent based or chemical care and maintenance products, renishing products or waxes on this vinyl ooring.
READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS PRIOR TO INSTALLING. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL VOID PRODUCT WARRANTY.
□ Accurate measurements and a at, clean and DRY suboor are essential for a successful installation (self stick adhesives will not stick to dirt, dust or high moisture content suboors).
□ Flooring must acclimate for 48 hours prior to installation in the environment to be installed.
□ Suboor surface must be maintained at room temperature.
□ Crawl spaces should be properly ventilated and have proper moisture barrier between the substrate and suboor.
□ All concrete slabs should be tested for moisture content before installation.
REGULAR MAINTENANCE
□ Regular sweeping or vacuuming with a brushless vacuum is recommended.
□ DO NOT use a vacuum that has a beater bar or rotary brush vacuum bristle attachment.
□ Wait 7 days before wet washing.
□ Avoid using rubber-backed mats which can discolor your oor.
□ If any pets are in the area, keep their nails trimmed.
□ Damp mop the oor weekly to remove dirt; a small amount of a neutral pH cleaner can be used to help remove dirt and buildups. A white scrub pad can be used on heavy deposits.
□ Use of a nish is not recommended by the Manufacturer.
□ Contact Home Depot for further instructions.
Special Maintenance
□ ALLOW 7 DAYS BEFORE EXPOSURE TO WATER.
□ In the event that this tile installation is not the last portion of the construction project, the tile must be protected from construction trafc and damage. Utilize a reinforced ber protective board or a heavy Kraft paper (min. 60#)
and cover the tile.
□ Protect the tile from constant exposure to direct sunlight. High temperatures directly on the oor may cause the adhesive to reactivate and release from the suboor.
□ Immediately clean up spills or any excess liquid.
□ If a nish coat is desired, use a matte nish designed for vinyl ooring only. Avoid use of waxes. If a nish is applied this will become part of the regular maintenance and may require periodic stripping and reapplication of the
nish.
□ Use of nylon or felt type furniture glides is required under all furniture. All types of furniture glides/protectors should be changed regularly to prevent scratching from embedded debris in the glide.
□ Grouted Installations: Floor will be ready for light foot trafc 24 hours after installation. Pets heavy trafc and furniture/xtures are permitted 72 hours after installation. Allow 7 days for grout to achieve nal cure which includes
hardness and stain resistance.
□ DO NOT use solvents, haze removers, sealers or heavy cleaning chemicals on any Luxury Vinyl Tile Grout.
□ When utilizing premixed Luxury Vinyl Tile Grout, be sure to follow the manufacturer’s recommended curing times for the adhesives used to install the tile. Failure to do so could result in adhesive not fully curing and movement or
lifting of tiles.
IMPORTANT
□ NEVER use solvent based or chemical care and maintenance products, renishing products or waxes on this vinyl ooring.
□ DO NOT clean with soap and water; soaps and detergents may leave a lm on the surface of the vinyl.
□ DO NOT use multi surface or ammoniated cleaners.
□ DO NOT slide furniture, chairs or objects across the vinyl ooring.
□ DO NOT use any type of abrasive material or cleaners on the ooring.
□ DO NOT walk on oor with cleats, spikes, high heels, or similar type shoes.
