CHECKING BEFORE LOCKING
Before locking the pressure cooker, always make
sure that the venting pipe and the safety valve are
clean and not obstructed. To check whether the
safety valve is clean, check the smooth turning of
the ball inside the valve. Please see detail in the
"Care and Maintenance" section on page 8.
CLOSING THE PRESSURE COOKER
Line up the O mark on the lid with the mark
on the pot handle (Fig. 4). Press down slightly
on the lid and turn clockwise just until the two
handles line up and lock together (Fig. 5). After
locking the cooker, slide the pressure safety
lock away from the lid until it snaps into place
(Fig. 6).

COOKING
After filling the pressure cooker (Fig. 7), place on
the burner, and select the appropriate pressure
setting for the type of food being cooked (Fig. 8).
See "Recommended Cooking Times" on page 10.
Place the pressure cooker on the stovetop and
begin heating using medium to medium-high
heat. It is normal for a small amount of steam to
escape from the venting pipe. When the pressure
indicator moves up, pressure is building inside
the cooker. If using a gas stove, do not allow gas
flames to extend up the sides of the cookware
and overheat the handles (Fig. 9).
