Tracerâ„¢ UC400 Controller Operations
Grid Columns
Index: Displays the sequence number assigned to the point.
Name: Displays the name of the point.
Reference: Identifies the source or target of information supplied to or from the point.
Locked: Indicates if the point is locked (not modifiable).
State: Displays the current state of the point. (Point states are Normal, Out of Service, Fault,
and Alarm.)
Save: Saves the points to the controller.
Save to File: Saves the points listed on this screen to a new or existing file on your hard drive.
Cancel: Returns the screen to its condition at the last save.
To edit an existing point
Use the Analog, Binary, and Multistate tab screens on the Controller Settings button to edit point
definitions.
1. Click the Analog, Binary, or Multistate tab.
2. Select the radio button on the left side the row of the point you want to edit.
3. Select the Edit option from the Action drop-down menu. The appropriate Point Configuration
dialog box appears.
4. Edit the individual settings you want to change. (Click Help to see descriptions of the various
controls.)
5. Click Save when you are finished to save the point or points to the existing points file on your
hard drive.
Controller Settings Tab
The Controller Settings tab contains drop-down lists and options you can use to select some
controller and display settings. The content of this screen is dynamically generated depending on
the type of controller to which you are connected and the protocol your system is using to
communicate with the controller.
Date and Time
Current Time/Current Date: Displays the current date and time from the controller.
Time Format: Use this drop-down list to select your preferred time format.
Short Date Format: Use this drop-down list to select your preferred date format.
Long Date Format: Use this drop-down list to select a hyphen or slash separator or to omit
a separator.
To set the controller date and time
1. Click the Date and Time expanding box.
2. Select the preferred Time Format, Short Date Format, and Long Date Format from the
drop-down list boxes.
3. Click Save to save your selections
Units
Number Format: Use this drop-down list to choose from available number formats for data
display.
Default Units: Use these option buttons to indicate which measurement system you wish to
use: I-P (inches and pounds) or SI (Standard International Units).
