The table below will help you choose the appropriate focus mode:
Focus mode Description
[Blank] Normal Auto Select normal auto focus for most occasions when you want the camera to automatically
Focus determine the focus setting.
Wide (zoom off): Approximately 0.3m to infinity.
Tele (at optical zoom 6x): Approximately 1.8m to infinity.

] Macro Auto Select this when you want to capture a close up image.
Focus Wide (zoom off): Approximately 0.07m to 0.4m.
Tele (at optical zoom 6x): Approximately 0.7m to 1.8m.

] Super Macro Select this when you want to capture a more close up image.
Auto Focus Wide (zoom off): Approximately 0.02m to 0.4m.
[ ] Infinity Select the infinity-focus setting when you want to capture images of subjects at a distance
of infinity.
[ 3M ] 3m Select this when you want to capture images of subjects at a distance of 3m from the camera.
[ MF ] Manual Focus Select this when you want to capture a manual focus image.
Wide (zoom off): Approximately 0.02m to infinity.
Tele (at optical zoom 6x): Approximately 0.7m to infinity.
J When you capture a close-up image in macro mode, the resolution of the corners of the image may
be inferior. This is normal and not a malfunction.
Setting the Focus

mages can be captured with the distance to the subject set by Normal Auto Focus, [ ] Macro Auto
Focus, [

] Super Macro Auto Focus, [ ] Infinity, [ 3M ] 3m or [ MF ] Manual Focus.
1. Slide the mode switch to [ ] and set the mode dial to one of
the photography modes.
J The available focus settings will depend on the selected
photography mode.
2. Toggle the button to select the desired focus mode.
