Updating Firmware Your EZ-Peak Live charger has the ability to receive firmware updates that can add new features and capabilities. Firmware updates are performed via the EZ-Peak Live App (see Traxxas EZ-Peak Live Application on page 15). Visit Traxxas.com for the latest firmware updates and instructions for how to install them on your charger.
Know your Batteries The EZ-Peak Live is able to charge two different types (chemistries) of batteries: NiMH and LiPo. Batteries are normally clearly labeled, but they can also be visually identified as a confirmation step. Charging Traxxas iD NiMH Batteries 1. Plug the charger into an AC wall outlet, and then connect the NiMH battery as shown The charger will recognize the iD battery and show you the charge settings. NiMH with iD 2. Verify the charge settings Confirm that the red NiMH LED is lit for the connected NiMH battery. The Start button will light blue indicating that an iD battery is connected and ready to charge.
3. Charging Press and hold the Start button for 2 seconds. The charger will play a tone and the green progress LED will flash, indicating that charging has started. The red charge progress LEDs will light as the battery charges. Press the Start button at any time to stop charging. The charger will play a tone, indicating that charging has been canceled. 4. Charge cycle complete The charger will play a “charge complete” tone to indicate charging is complete. The alert tone will play 3 times and stop.
Charging Traxxas iD LiPo Batteries 1. Plug the charger into an AC wall outlet, and then connect the LiPo battery as shown The charger will recognize the iD battery and show you the charge settings. 3. Select LiPo charging mode The default LiPo charge setting is Balance Charge. You can change the LiPo charge setting, if desired. Storage Charge Makes it easy to charge or discharge the battery to the proper storage voltage. Use this mode whenever the battery will be stored unused for more than 7 days. Fast Charge Fast charges your battery without balancing your cells. Stops charging when the battery is fully charged or when the first cell reaches peak voltage.

Traxxas EZ-Peak Live Application The EZ-Peak Live App installs on your Apple® iPhone®, iPad®, iPod touch®, or Android™ device and links to your charger via built-in Bluetooth®. The EZ-Peak Live App (available in the Apple App Store℠ or on Google Play™) gives you access to additional features, such as a high-definition graphical user interface, remote monitoring and alerts for up to 4 chargers, detailed live charging information, and access to full manual controls (see Advanced Mode on page 18).
Charging Traxxas iD NiMH or LiPo Batteries using the EZ-Peak Live App When EZ-Peak Live is connected, you have the ability to configure the charger remotely from the app or you can use the buttons on the charger. EZ-Peak Live will not allow you to start the charging process remotely via the app. It is important to verify visually at the charger that the connected battery matches the charge mode indicated on the face of charger.
WARNING: FIRE HAZARD! Never leave batteries unattended while charging. Remote monitoring via the EZ-Peak Live App is not a substitute for being present to watch over and tend to batteries being charged. Batteries being charged should always be visible and monitored in person in case there is an unexpected problem that requires immediate attention.
WARNING! CAUTION! DANGER! FIRE HAZARD! IN ADVANCED MODE, THE USER SELECTS THE BATTERY CHEMISTRY AND CHARGE MODE. THIS CREATES THE RISK OF FIRE AND POSSIBLE INJURY TO YOURSELF AND OTHERS RESULTING FROM ACCIDENTALLY CHOOSING TO CHARGE A LIPO BATTERY IN NIMH MODE. ALWAYS MAKE SURE TO SELECT THE BATTERY TYPE THAT MATCHES THE CONNECTED BATTERY. ALSO, TO HELP PREVENT ACCIDENTALLY SELECTING THE WRONG BATTERY TYPE, NEVER ATTEMPT TO CHARGE LIPO BATTERIES WITH MISSING OR DAMAGED BALANCE CONNECTORS.
LiPo Only Advanced Mode (manual settings) Advanced Mode must be enabled by the user. Follow the on-screen prompts in the EZ-Peak Live App.
The EZ-Peak Live charger is set by default to only charge iDequipped batteries. You must turn off iD-Only Mode on the Advanced Charger Settings screen of the app to manually configure the charger settings to charge non-iD batteries. You can also turn on and set up the passcode-protected safety lock on this same screen. Advanced Charger Settings 2. Use the EZ-Peak Live App to select the battery type, battery capacity, charge rate, and charging mode (LiPo only).
Note: If the LiPo battery type is selected, a balance plug connection is required by the charger and the EZ-Peak Live App before displaying the LiPo charging options. Once the charger detects a balance plug connection, the EZ-Peak Live App will display the charging options and you can select your preferred charging mode: Balance, Fast, or Storage Charge. WARNING: FIRE HAZARD! If the LiPo and NiMH LEDs alternately blink, then the balance connector is either disconnected or damaged.

Charger Error Codes .If the charger detects an error during the charge process, the charge status LEDs will flash an error code. Warranty Information Traxxas electronic components are warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 30 days from the date of purchase. Limitations: Any and all warranty coverage does not cover replacement of parts and components damaged by abuse, neglect, improper or unreasonable use, crash damage, water or excessive moisture, chemical damage, improper or infrequent maintenance, accident, unauthorized alteration or modification or items that are considered consumable.

Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
