Steel CV Driveshafts Installation Instructions
Tool required:
1.5mm hex wrench
2.0mm hex wrench
7mm hex driver
Front CV Driveshaft Installation
1. Use a 7mm hex driver to remove the wheel nut from the
stub axle. Remove the wheel/tire (Fig. 1).
2. Remove the 2.5x6 CS from the brake caliper; remove the
caliper from the wheel hub (Fig. 2).
3. Remove the wheel hub, cross pin, and washer from the
stub axle (Fig. 3).
4. Remove the upper 3x15 BCS from the camber link, the
lower 3x10 BCS from the steering block, and the 3x12 BCS
from the steering link (Fig. 4).
5. Remove the steering block, stub axle, and the driveshaft
(Fig. 5).
6. Remove the o-ring from the drive cup and discard (Fig. 6).
Note: The o-ring is not required for use with the steel
CV driveshafts. Replacement steel CV drive cups are also
available (part #8353X, sold separately).
7. Installation of the front steel CV driveshaft is the reverse
of removal.
8. Repeat for the other side.
Rear CV Driveshaft Installation
1. Use a 7mm hex driver to remove the wheel nut from the
stub axle. Remove the wheel/tire.
2. Remove the 2.5x6 CS from the brake caliper; remove the
caliper from the wheel hub (Fig. 7).
3. Remove the wheel hub, cross pin, and washer from the
stub axle (Fig. 8).
4. Remove the upper 3x14 BCS from the camber link; rotate
the axle carrier down and remove the driveshaft and stub
axle (Fig. 9).
5. Remove the o-ring from the drive cup and discard (Fig. 6).
6. Installation of the rear steel CV driveshaft is the reverse of
removal.
7. Repeat for the other side.
