| IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS |
When using Humio, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including
but not limited to the following:
• Read all instructions before use.
• Inspect Humio for any visible damage to the power cord or motor base.
• Do not operate Humio with a damaged cord/plug or if Humio is damaged in any manner.
• Always set Humio on a firm, flat, level surface.
• To protect against risk of electrical shock, do not immerse the electric cord, plug, or
motor base in water or other liquid.
• To prevent the cord from being damaged, keep the cord away from heated surfaces and
out of the way from high traffic areas where it can be tripped on or tripped over.
• Unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts, and before
cleaning.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
• To avoid the risk of fire, shock or personal injury, do not use an extension cord.
• Using distilled water with Humio reduces mineral deposits and scale build up. If you begin
to notice “white dust” immediately stop use of the machine and clean thoroughly. Please
refer to proper care, cleaning and maintenance section of this manual. Failure to keep
the unit clean from mineral deposits normally contained in any water will affect the unit’s
performance and any failure to follow these instructions may void the warranty.
• Do not operate Humio without water. Turn off Humio when the water tank is empty.
• A red blinking light indicates a malfunction has occurred or the water tank is empty.
To reset the unit, turn the unit off, unplug, and correct the problem. After correcting the
problem, safely plug in the unit and turn on.
• Do not overfill the water tank.
• This product has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other) for safety reasons.
This plug will fit only into a polarized outlet and only fit in one way. If the plug does not fully
fit into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, do not attempt to modify the plug.
